Whether you’re looking for designer deals, unique boutiques, or a full day of retail therapy, Long Island has you covered. From massive malls to charming village Main Streets, here’s where locals love to shop.
Roosevelt Field — Garden City
One of the largest malls on the East Coast with over 270 stores, including Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Apple. The revamped food court offers plenty of dining options, and there’s a movie theater on-site. Easy access from the Meadowbrook Parkway makes this a go-to for serious shopping days.
Walt Whitman Shops — Huntington Station
An upscale shopping experience with stores like Pottery Barn, Bloomingdale’s, and Williams-Sonoma. Full-service restaurants are scattered throughout, though there’s no traditional food court. A more polished, less crowded alternative to Roosevelt Field.
Smith Haven Mall — Lake Grove
Over 130 stores including Apple, L.L. Bean, and Sur La Table. Centrally located in Suffolk County, just minutes off the Long Island Expressway. Family-friendly with a nice mix of retailers and restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory and Ford’s Garage.
Tanger Outlets at The Arches — Deer Park
Voted the best mall on Long Island multiple years in a row. Over 100 stores with great prices on brands like Nike, Coach, Kate Spade, and Michael Kors. It’s more than shopping — there’s a movie theater, outdoor ice skating rink, and plenty of restaurants. European-inspired open-air design makes it feel like a destination.
Tanger Outlets Riverhead — Riverhead
Premium brands like Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Saks OFF 5TH alongside everyday favorites like Gap and Old Navy. Right off the LIE, and close to the Long Island Aquarium if you want to make a full day of it.
Americana Manhasset — Manhasset
Long Island’s answer to Rodeo Drive. This upscale open-air shopping center features over 60 high-end boutiques, including Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and Hermès. Beautifully landscaped grounds, exceptional customer service, and a truly luxurious experience.
East Hampton Main Street — East Hampton
Shopping with the Hamptons glitterati. High-end boutiques line the picturesque Main Street, including Tiffany & Co., Ralph Lauren, Gucci, and Cole Haan. Perfect for a day of browsing, lunch, and people-watching.
Some of the best shopping on Long Island isn’t at the malls — it’s in our walkable downtown villages. These Main Streets are full of unique boutiques, local shops, and that small-town feel.
Greenport Village
A historic maritime village at the end of the North Fork. Stroll Front Street and Main Street for boutiques, antique shops, art galleries, and locally made goods. Don’t miss the antique carousel at Mitchell Park. Combine shopping with wine tasting nearby.
Huntington Village
Long Island’s Manhattan. This 36-square-block downtown area is packed with boutique stores, restaurants, and nightlife along New York Avenue and Main Street. Home to The Paramount theater, Heckscher Museum, and the Cinema Arts Centre.
Port Jefferson
A charming harbor town with a storybook feel. Unique shops, restaurants, and waterfront views. It’s also one of two ferry ports connecting to Connecticut, so you can make it a maritime day trip.
Patchogue Village
A lively downtown with a diverse mix of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and entertainment venues. Great energy, especially on weekends. The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is a local landmark.
Garden City
An upscale walkable downtown along Franklin Avenue and Seventh Street. Charming boutiques, spas, and restaurants that rival the East End. Perfect for a leisurely afternoon.
Northport Village
A cozy, homey village with cute shops, a great bakery, and harbor views. Smaller than some other villages, but full of charm. Stop at the park along the water.
Cold Spring Harbor
Just one tiny Main Street, but impossibly charming. A few boutiques, a café, and beautiful harbor views. Quick stop if you’re exploring the North Shore.
The Gallery at Westbury Plaza — Westbury
Convenient outdoor shopping center with Trader Joe’s, Nordstrom Rack, Saks OFF 5TH, and HomeGoods. Great for a quick, efficient shopping trip.
Shoppes at East Wind — Wading River
A tucked-away gem on the North Shore with local boutiques, a spa, and farm-to-table dining. Perfect if you want something different from the typical mall experience.
Long Island’s shopping scene has something for everyone — whether you’re hunting for deals at the outlets, browsing boutiques in a waterfront village, or treating yourself at Americana Manhasset.
