Coming Up This Season (Winter/Spring 2026)

Long Island Restaurant Week — January 25 – February 1, 2026
Over 250 restaurants across Nassau and Suffolk counties offer prix-fixe menus at incredible prices. One of the best times of year to try new spots or revisit old favorites. Held three times a year (winter, spring, fall).

Winterfest Southold — January 2026
A North Fork community celebration featuring 50+ exhibits from local businesses and organizations. Great way to explore Southold in the off-season.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations — January 2026
Events throughout Long Island State Parks honoring Dr. King’s legacy, including programs at Hempstead Lake State Park.

Valentine’s Day Events — February 2026
Romance is in the air! Watch for special dinners, wine tastings on the North Fork, and couples events at venues across the Island.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades — March 2026
Multiple parades across Long Island, including traditional celebrations in Garden City, Montauk, and Kings Park.

Spring (March – May)

Tulip Festival — Huntington (April/May)
A celebration of spring featuring children’s activities, art exhibits, and live performances. Presented by the Huntington Arts Council.

Long Island Ducks Baseball Season Opens — Bethpage Ballpark (Late April)
Affordable family fun watching Long Island’s Atlantic League team.

Memorial Day Parades & Beach Openings — Island-wide (Late May)
The unofficial start of summer. Parades throughout Long Island and beaches open with lifeguards for the season.

Summer (June – August)

Jones Beach Air Show — Jones Beach (Late May)
One of the most spectacular air shows in the Northeast, featuring military demonstrations and precision flying.

Concerts at Northwell Health Theatre — Jones Beach (Summer)
Major touring acts perform at this iconic 15,000-seat outdoor amphitheater right on the water. A Long Island summer tradition.

Belmont Stakes — Elmont (June)
The third leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown. Note: Currently held at Saratoga during Belmont Park renovations — check for return date.

Floral Park Street Fair — Floral Park (June)
A beloved community tradition with live music, vendors, and family fun on Tulip Avenue.

Long Island Seafood Festival — Various locations (August)
Fresh local seafood, cooking demos, and waterfront vibes celebrating Long Island’s maritime heritage.

Shinnecock Powwow — Southampton (Labor Day Weekend)
One of the oldest and largest Native American gatherings in the Northeast. Traditional dancing, drumming, crafts, and food.

Fall (September – November)

Greenport Maritime Festival — Greenport (September)
A celebration of the North Fork’s seafaring history at the East End Seaport Museum. Boat tours, demonstrations, and family activities.

Hamptons International Film Festival — East Hampton (October)
Independent and international films premiere in the Hamptons, attracting filmmakers and movie lovers from around the world.

North Fork Crush — North Fork Wineries (October)
Celebrate the grape harvest with special tastings, vineyard tours, and harvest events across Long Island Wine Country.

Hampton Classic Horse Show — Bridgehampton (Late August)
A premier equestrian event attracting top riders, celebrities, and horse enthusiasts.

Fall Farm Festivals & Pumpkin Picking — Island-wide (September – October)
Apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides, and pumpkin patches at farms across Nassau and Suffolk counties. Family favorites include Harbes Family Farm, Hank’s Pumpkintown, and Schmitt’s Farm.

Long Island Restaurant Week (Fall Edition) — November
Another chance to enjoy prix-fixe menus at hundreds of participating restaurants.

Winter (December – February)

Holiday Light Shows — Island-wide (Late November – January)
Drive-through and walk-through light displays, including Magic of Lights at Jones Beach, Bayville Winter Wonderland, and the Girl Scouts Holiday Light Show.

Midnight on Main Celebrations — Patchogue, Farmingdale, Huntington (New Year’s Eve)
Family-friendly downtown celebrations with live music, fireworks, and community countdowns.
